Ø  Shekar Prasad Singh(SP Singh) appointed as the Chief Secretary of Telangana in the place of Pradeep Chandra on 1^st January 2016.

Ø  Known poet Khadar Moinuddin will be felicitated  with Arun sagar award  for his contribution to

Ø  77^th All India Industrial Exhibition or famously Numaish held in Nampally grounds in Hyderabad.

·         The exhibition held for 46 days once in a year.

·         Theme of exhibition  - Numaish Masunathi-Mulki  I,e., Exhibition of local products

·         The exhibition started in 1938 by few Osmania University graduates to sell local products.

·         Initially it started in Public garden later shifted to Nampally grounds.

·         Govt of TS given assent to give the ground for 99 years to Exhibition society.

Ø  As per  National Crime Bureau report, Telangana is at 2^nd place in former suicides in 2016 after Mahrastra. AP is in 6^th place.

Ø  International Kite Festival “ KITE-2017”going to be held in Warangal on 17^th of January 2017 by Telangana Tourism Department.

·         PV Sindhu  will be the “face” of the festival.

Ø  Govt of TS announced pension scheme for single women in the state.

·         The amount of pension is Rs.1000/month

·         Around 3 lakh single women are there in the state.

·         Scheme will be come into effect  from nest financial year.

Ø  Govt. had released Rs.600 cr. as the Special Development Fund for the development of 31 districts.

Ø  TS Govt planning to set up Fisheries Science  college at Pebbair Mandal,Wanaparthy dist.

Ø  Chintapally village of Khammam dist became immmigrant place for the Siberian birds(Erra bolu kongalu).They starts appear here from the month of December.Siberia(Russia)

Ø  TSCO (Telangana State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society)  going to come up with the good old brand “ Peethambaram sareers”.

·         These sareers were the costiest of brands in old times.

·         The  Govt of TS & TSCO planning to come up with the brand by remodeling  the sarees and garments according to the new age.

·         Few famous peethambarm styles-Jalar bhel,Pushyam bhel,Panka bhel,Banaras bhel and Sharvan bhel etc,.

·         Silk is the key ingredient used in the manufacture of the Pithambaram,which brought from Bangalore.

Ø  “Paatha Pantala Pandaga – Millet Biodiversity festival(18^th)”  falgged off  at Zaheerbad on 15^thJan 2017 sankranti festival.

·         The festival  conducted by DDS (Deccan Development Society).

·         this fest aims to encourage the farmers to takeup cultivationg the Milliets than Cash crops.

·         The  month long  festival  starts in one vilage and shifts to one and another each day.

Ø  Bindu Priya from Ashwapuram of Kothagudem dist won Youth Icon-2016 award given by Sree peetam of Kakinada.

Ø  1^st Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Dance  Festival concluded in Hyderabad on 15^th January,2017.

Aimed at introducing the unique diversities of Asia Paciifc region and sahring the joys that varied communities across the regions feels while they dance.

Ø  Telangana govt announced series of welfare measures to the army personnel on 17^th Jan 2017.

·         Special Army welfare fund will be created and annually allottes Rs.80Cr. for the fund.

Ø  HMDA to use ITS(Intelligent Trasportation System) to tackle the traffic problems in the Hyderabad city.

·         ARS, a Netherlands company got the approval from the govt to implement the ITS in the city.

Ø  CYIENT,a gaint Software company going to start its operations in Madikonds SEZ in Warangal city.

Ø  Telangana govt  will soon embark on the Birth defects registration programme to record the bodily defects of the new borns for rectification before it is getting too late.

·         It is the first of its kind of programme in the country.

Ø  Siricilla Dist recorded as the 100% Open defecation free district in the state.

Ø  Telangana  got 2^nd ranking in Solar power production in the coutry.

·         Rangareddy &  Medak dist stood in 1^st & 2^nd ranks consecutively in nation wide.

Ø  The annual Ur’s festival of Jhanpad durga started on 26^th Jan at Palakeedu mandal,Suryapet dist.

·         It is three day festival.

Ø  Bhakta ramdasu Lift Irrigation projects in Khammam dist. completed ,CM going to inagurate on 31st January on birthday of Sri Bhakta ramdasu.

·         It is major frst project (Lift) completed by the Govt  in a stipulated time after formation of Telangana.

·         It is lift irrigation project of 5.5 tmc ft  from Palair reservoir (it is under Nagrjun sagar left canal)and pump into SRSP(Sri Ram Sagar Project) canal-DBM-60 to give water to the Ayacut of Palair constituency.

·         It is planned to irrigate nearly 60,000 acres land in the mandals of Kusumanchi,Tirumayapalem,Mudigonda,Nelakondapally and Khammam rural mandals.

·         On this occasion,govt also planning to offcially celebrate the birthday of great legend Bhakta Ramadasu in his native village Nelakondapalli.

·         Bhakta ramadasu project was part of Govt idea to give water to the 5 lakh acres in the Khammam Dist through Sita Rama Project

ü  Sita rama project  is the redisgned and comined project of earlier Indira sagar & Rajiv sagar Dummugudem projects .

ü   With Sitarama project govt planned to give water to  4.96 lakh acre compare to the 3.33 lakh acre allotted in both the projects.

ü  Govt plannig to complete the project by 2018-19.

Ø  Cental Govt constituted a Bajaj committee to deal with the disputes on Krishna water sharing.

·         On 13^th Feb,2017 Telangana govt had given presentation seeking water sharing from new projects of AP like Polavaram & Pattisema.

Ø  Govt of Telangana released GO.no 38 by doing few amendments to GO.123,which ment for acqusition of land on 14^th Feb 2017.

·         According to GO.38,the rehabilitation & resettlement will be done not only for people who lose their land in the acquistion but also for the people who are depended upon the traditional occupations,peasants(agricultural labourers) and others who depending upon the forest produces.

·          Under this package Rs.5.04 Lakh sanctioned for construction of house in rehabilitation process and Rs. 5 lakh allotted for one time settlement.

·         Windows,divorcies,elders will be treated as the separate beneficieries under this G.O.

Ø  Ayachitam Sridhra appointed as Telangana Grandhalaya Parishath chairman.

·         He worked with the “Telangana Vikasa Samiti”.

Ø  International  airways company “AIRBUS”  signed MoU with the Govt of TS to estabish its Skill development center at Begumpet airport in hyderabad.

·         Hyd.  is the first city choosen by the AIRBUS for establishing its skill development center in India.

Ø  Mahabubnagar  is recorded  hignest  IMR & MMR rate  in the state that indicates number of deaths per 1000.

·         Target of central & state govt was 29 deaths per 1000.

·         it is due to lack awareness  among the people about the facilities available for them.

·         The collector  ordered  to know about the status of the healthcare facilities in the rural areas &  reasons that holding back the people to avail the facilities by using established adminstration like ANM(Nurses & Midwives) & Anganwadi workers.

Ø  About 95% of the workers are women in this sector.

Ø   Telangana govt proposed 2017-18 budget of  Rs.1,44,496Cr. on 13^th March 2017.

·         Revenue Surplus – Rs.4,571 Cr.

·         Budget Deficit – Rs.26,096 Cr. ( 3.48% of GSDP

·         GSDP  OF 2016-17 is 10.1 %.

·         Telangana  ranks 1^st In “Ease of doing business “ in the country.

ü  2^nd in the exports of Information Technology.

ü  3451 companies got permission under TS-Ipass with Investment of 58,341 Cr.

ü  Per capita Incomeof 2016-17 increased to Rs.1,58,360 from Rs.1,40,683 of 2015-16.

ü  TS  records 19.61% revenue growth in this fiscal,which is more than many states despite of demonatisation.

ü  M BCs(Most Backward Community )  will be getting separate corporation with allotted budget of Rs.1000Cr.

ü  Total  allocation for BCs is increased to Rs.5070Cr.from Rs.2530 Cr. of last year.

ü  Rs.14,375 Cr. allotted for SC welfare.

ü  “Know  your district and Plan Your Distrct “,a new model  of TS Govt for decentralisation of the govt.

ü  Govt  planned to  give sheeps to 4 lak people of Yadava comminty through “Sheep Deveopment Cooperative societies.”

ü  Rs.1200 cr,  allotted for welfare of weavers along with development of Textile park @ Warangal & Apperal park @ Siricilla.

ü  Rs. 500 cr. budget allotted for babar & Dhobi community for opening the salons & construction of Dhobi ghats.

Ø  Apadhbandhu scheme of the TS govt to “provide Rs.50,000 finiacial relief for the families of accident victims in the case breadwinner of the family dead in accident”.

·         The financial relief should be deposited within the seven days from the date of death .
